Jabez

Hello again all!
Before we get started I would like to praise God for the blessing he bestowed on the people of Chile, for safely delivering the miners from their entrapment.
Now,
I was putting away some clothes and I saw a book in my closet. The Prayer of Jabez by Bruce Wilkinson. I got this book right around the time I graduated. Seeing it made me think a little.
  1.  I need to read this book.
  2. Who got me where I am?
I'm gonna crack into it after I post this.  But the second  needs to be looked into.  Who do we owe? Who helped us get to where we are?
Four people come to mind.
My best friend Ronny.  He was a stepping stone.  He invited me to church.
Our ride Danny.  He picked me up every Sunday morning, took us for breakfast, drove us to church, bought us lunch, took us back to church.  He picked us up every Wednesday afternoon and bought us dinner and took us to church.  He sacrificed so much for us.
Youth Pastor, Tim.  Anytime I have had a question, he has had an answer.  Always treated me with respect and kindness.
Pastor, Jack.  He accepted me. And considering how I dressed and who I was at the time thats a big deal.  He was always encouraging and helpful.

So, thanks all.  There are several people who have helped me.  These are the four people that are most prominent.
I think its good every now and then to reflect on who God has placed in our life.

The Change

Hello!
For those of you that don't know me, I play World Of Warcraft. Well, I guess you could say I used to. My subscription runs out Sunday and I am not going to renew. I spend roughly two hours every night playing WoW. Thats about 14 hours a week. Instead of playing WoW I'm going to spend time with God. So, time will be spent in Prayer, or in the Bible, or updating this. Even now I'm listening to Genesis. Not sure if I'm going read Front to Back, or if I'm going to read through the New Testament first. IDK! Oh well. I need to let my wife know about this blog, so she can post some stuff too.
Oh! I think also some online studies?

Welcome

Hello,
Welcome to Post 1 of what I hope to be MANY! My name is Benjamin Pendygraft. I created this blog as a way to post my journey. Not a world changing epic. Not even a daring adventure. Here at Just A Closer, I plan on blogging my Relationship, with my Savior. See, my wife and I have been flaky about our faith lately. But we both want to change. So, I will post, and maybe she will too. Who knows. Anyway, the point is to hold myself accountable... I think. That way I will have the whole of the Internetz to scrutinize me. :) Not that anyone will read. I hope that this blog will help me, and my wife, and maybe even you, have a closer walk with God. :)
